Use it until it conceivably, doesn't. It's a rule of thumb applicable in most any situation: relationships, Quiznos orders, and now, your choice in attire. As they often say, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
And, so I did– or rather didn't– do just that.
Topshop top, Forever 21 moto jacket, thrifted skirt, Urban Outfitters heels.
I mean when it works, it just freaking works i.e. this outfit. It's all about reliability and feeling comfortable in what you wear. I for one find solace in groutfits with depressed, oriental florals and chunky lace up heels. It's my happy place, so why would I change it?
Forever 21 army jacket and thrifted mompris.
And so, I really didn't change a thing. Sure, I swapped out the funeral tones for a pair of capris on Ecstasy and a army jacket– which picks up the orange in the trousers quite lovely, dontcha think– but the core is all here. Midriff baring top (check), excess of floral (check), and obnoxiously Coachella heels (check and mate).
I know this may be hard to follow, but my point is, we all have that one outfit where we're just like, "damn I look trendy and so true to my self today, Freud and Jung would be so proud". And when we find that outfit, it's hard to let the memory fade of the confidence and kick-assyness said apparel helped you exhibit; and even harder to will yourself not to wear it every day of the week. To that, I say, if you have a fully functioning Laundromat within a five mile radius, go for it. If not, maintain the essence of said outfit by substituting out pieces and adding other to make a whole new look without straying too far from confidence zone.
So do you. Do it everyday of the week. Do it every other day of the week. Because when it works for you, it's probably working for somebody else too.... [ seductive winking emoji].
